Voice Chat the Professional Way

Google Talk is a chat program that I think is nice to have, I can now communicate with my customers, well that’s if they have the program, so far I have convinced some to access the service, explaining to them how convenient it can be to talk to me while I’m at home or on the go without the phone to my ear. I don’t think it’s a necessity for the office, but it is a great communication skill between co-workers for quick questions. Now the idea of having the option to download the program to your computer can be a decision of your own, I did download it to mines and I do not have to have my Web browser running at the same time. I had the option to get the stand-alone version or the web based version. The standalone version is 1.5 megabytes. I’m sure that I will find it useful for my hair business one day; if not maybe I will be able to use it for future business endeavors. I have provided a link below so that you can see the featues and widgets you can have added to your phone.

Twitter and Facebook for Business (Coming Soon...for me)

My next goal is to sign up for Twitter, I'm sure you are saying that I am late, I know I am, but hopefully if you visit my blog later I will have a sucesssful experience to tell. Below I have included a video marketing these social networks...see you soon.

Voicemails for Business

With Google Voice in charge of your missed calls, callers are directed to your Google Voice in-box instead of to the voice mail box that your carrier operates. There, friends can leave a message after hearing the greeting you recorded online. You, for your part, can listen to messages online or from your phone, in any order you'd like. I tried the voice mail service and wanted to see how my message would be transcribed this is what I got:

Yes this is cam. I was calling to check to see if Chase Helen, in China. With the available to come and participate in calls to clean up, on Saturday but the girl scout troop number 894 excuse me. I'm sorry 8294. Thanks.

Linked Together "The Social World"

Choosing to subscribe to a voice account, I think is going to be a positive step toward organizing my appointments. I am a full-time employee on a “traditional job”, but I’m also a hairstylist part-time, well let’s say 1/3 of the time. A lot of my customers call just to see when they can set an appointment to have their hair done. I decided to get a special number just for my customers to call and leave a voice mail stating the date and time that they would like to schedule their appointment. I am trying this on a trial basis; I hope this service become one of my favorites. I have also provided a link above for the convenience of my existing customers (they know who they are). From the above link they will be able to read about the service on Facebook and make an appointment. I am anxious to familiarize myself and my business with this new feature. I am confident that this will be a success.

Video Voice Conferencing

Video conferencing is a strategic enabler and can be a great communication tool for a business. Companies, government agencies and high-tech companies located around the world, regularly use video conferencing to organize meetings, conduct training, hold strategic discussions and share critical information. Video conferencing helps companies save in costs. However, the disadvantage of video conferencing is the lack of a personal touch; technology issues, security and cost are all potential drawbacks that need to be considered.
As a business person I would like to get to know whom I may be dealing with in person. The handshake before the meeting, eye contact, and even watching how people hold themselves during the meeting are important factors. I also know that some people may not be comfortable with talking in front of a camera over a computer, I am one of these people, but as the world gets more technical, there is always room for change. I know that it will help me, for example a customer trying to explain the thickness of their hair or explain a color they want to try in their hair I could always schedule a conference with them over the computer. Who knows, maybe I will start to like this.
